Glass Art

For over 3 decades as a glass artist, Susan Rankin has drawn her inspiration from the landscape in which she lives. An avid gardener, she continues to explore the idea of garden through her vessel and sculptural works and is well known for her vibrant floral vessels. Susan examines how glass has been used historically and transitions form and style with a contemporary feel.

Susan will greet you in the gallery along with Richard and Spencer. Becky will greet you in the tent of glass outside. There will be glass blowing demonstrations by Brad Copping hourly throughout the weekend. David Smith will be in the painting studio in the basement of the house while Rusty Girl and Jillian Messervey (new this year) will be set up in the gardens, hope to see you there.

According to the old saying...
“April showers bring May flowers” originated from a short poem written by Thomas Tusser in 1557. The meaning behind is that even the most unpleasant circumstances can bring enjoyable things.
ECCO Art Gallery Studios invites you to join in celebrating this most enjoyable collection of floral works of Apsley glass artist, Susan Rankin and Peer Christensen a fine art painter from Peterborough.
“The classical technique of building up successive opaque and transparent paint layers yields the luminosity that has come to define Christensen’s style.”
“As an avid gardener, Susan continues to explore the idea of garden through her vessel and sculptural works and is well know for her vibrant floral vessels.”
We invite you to join us for the “opening” reception, Saturday, March 23 from 1-4 with a selection of refreshments to be offered.
Also on exhibit at ECCO Art Gallery Studios are floral works from the gallery roster of local artists Rowena Dykins, Holly Edwards, Ann Shier, Mary-Anne Johnston and Kay Gregg.

The exhibition will run from Thursday, March 21 through Sunday, April 21, 2024.
