Lisa Mace is an artist living in the heart of North Kawartha in the middle of a 100 Acre Woods near Apsley, alongside her husband, two sons, two dogs, two cats, and too many chickens. Lisa graduated from York University with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, honours degree and now has over 20 years of experience as a full-time painter. Lisa has shown her work in numerous exhibitions from Windsor to Montreal, and continues to display her art at a gallery in Ottawa.
Lisa has been a long-time participant in the Apsley Studio Tour and is excited to return this year after a brief pause. Her creative journey took a new turn last year when she became the Programming Coordinator at our local library, a role that has opened up new channels of creativity in her work.
With life changing around her, so too has her art. While you can still expect to see elements of her previous techniques, she is introducing fresh twists, new subjects, and a variety of materials and tools she’s been experimenting with. This year, her work will include an exciting range of sizes, offering a wide selection for those who wish to support her evolving artistic vision.
