CONNECT WITH CREATIVITY
Another successful year at our Tour was had in 2025! We wish to thank all of the people who filled our studios and embraced our creativity! Opening up our studios and sharing our passion is only part of the equation. It takes YOU, the inquisitive tour goer to Connect with Creativity! And as always, a big thank you to all of our sponsors who help to make this tour possible.
This year we wish to honour our eldest particpating member, Arne Roosman, who passed away in January 2026 at the age of 93. He has been an incredible inspiration to all who had the honour of meeting him.
To quote Arne, writing about his 2022 exhibition “The Twenty-Six” at the Art Gallery of Bancroft:
“I see myself as a teller of tales, with a brush for a quill, sometimes bending ancient myths to suit my worldview. My output is spontaneous, drawing a passion, oil my preferred medium. Never found nor did I get stuck in what much art is about, a style, a convention or the unconventional. Far from suffering the agony of Sisyphus, I am a drifter, happily pushing little round marbles up the slope of my slice of eternity.
We are participants in and a part of the physical world we inhabit. Over time, we have lost that sense of connection, have all too often let ourselves be severed from the world of which we are a part. My work expresses my fear of a lost connection with each other, with our environment and a hope that we will re-discover all our forms of connection.”
Arne’s passion for creating, zest for life and kind character will continue to be cherished. We will miss him dearly but are so grateful we had so many wonderful years together! For more on Arne please look to this short article by Britt Olauson on our blog – In Memory of an Unforgettable Friend
