Glass Art
Alex Anagnostou is a glass artist who has worked in the visual arts field for over 20 years. Sculpting blown and cast glass combined with metal since 2005, much of her work is inspired by how glass has expanded our ability to see on a microscopic and macroscopic level. Her sculptures explore issues of time, space, nature, energy, and interconnectedness. She holds fine art related degrees from the University of Toronto 1988 and the University of Western Ontario. She received her glass education at Sheridan College and trained as an objects conservator at Fleming College in Peterborough. In addition to numerous local and international exhibitions, Alex has completed two Public Art Projects related to environmental issues of bird migration and the fragile Niagara Escarpment. Some of her work can be found in the Musee des Beaux Arts in Quebec City as well as Canadian Embassies in Athens, Hong Kong, and Morocco.
