Glass Mosaic Art

I have been making my non-traditional stained glass mosaics for 25 years. My style is to make mosaics that use deliberately shaped, hand cut larger pieces that are sometimes hand painted which are usually only used in the making of windows. I find this to be the best way to highlight the unique streaks and markings in the glass, details that are lost when they’re cut into smaller pieces.

My art pieces start out as sketches that I use to make stencil designs. I hand cut the glass that is then painstakingly adhered to wood panels that I have cut, sanded and stained. The finished art is then grouted and hooked. The unique finished art is displayed in your home the same way one would hang a painting. The colours change in intensity throughout the day as the light moves.

I have always sought out nature spots to indulge in present moment awareness, this time spent in nature guides my work. After decades of visiting the family cottage on Chandos I now reside full time on a small rural homestead in Apsley surrounded by endless inspiration.
