Connections in Strange Times

There was no telling how the Studio Tour would go. COVID seemed to put a dark cloud on everything. On the first day, a visitor explained to me about new business owners on Chandos Lake, at Gilmour Bay Marina.  Without much thought, I proceeded about my day with good results. The cloud of COVID was lifting. On the second day. I was surprised to meet the owners of the Marina, who admired what I have to offer. As I was showing them my workshop, I also learned about their business model for their new lake-side store. Along with marine and fishing supplies, they were committed to supporting the work of local artists, craftspeople and the like.  The match was perfect!  I was invited to sell my woodwork in their store, and I gladly became part of their exciting adventure. Since the Tour, our friendship has grown. Through a simple connection made possible by a visiting match-making angel.  The thought of it brings me much happiness during these challenging times.  Brian & Sharon Flood, at Gilmour Bay Marina, is the only other location where friends and visitors are able to see and buy my work (and the work of other local artists). My heart goes out to all of the Apsley Community.
