New Guest This Year

Painting

Andrew has made art since his childhood in rural Australia. Coming to Canada he attended teacher’s college (U of T) and immediately worked in the Education Dept. of the AGO. In 1980, he took the position of Head of Art at Trinity College School, Port Hope. He remained at TCS for 33 years encouraging students in studio art and in art history along with coaching cricket and directing plays. He also designed and led annual museum and architecture tours to Europe and the U.S. In teaching he always made it a practice to work alongside his students and to maintain a schedule of constantly changing student exhibitions. Midway through a busy teaching career he took time out to complete an MA in Art History at the U of T.

While there have been exhibitions (Art Gallery of Northumberland, Station Gallery, A.K. Collings Gallery) Andrew primarily paints for pleasure.

Now well into retirement and living by pristine Rathbun Lake in the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park he winters with his grown family in Australia. Joining the Apsley Studio Tour is a stimulating and motivating goal – long overdue!
